Special feature on Yiddish singer Hilda Bronstein.  Her new CD “Hilda sings Yiddish songs with Chutzpah” will soon be available at £12.99.  Early in 2009 Hilda formed a musical alliance with three versatile instrumentalists to form her own exciting musical trio. They are Yair Schleider on piano, guitar, and accordion, Dave Shulman on clarinet and bass clarinet, and Paul Moylan on double bass. From Klezmer to Yiddish Swing and from the traditional sounds of Eastern Europe to music composed for the twenty first century, these guys capture that essential ‘Yiddish’ sound that warms the heart. They have already performed to standing ovations and rave reviews. The trio has recently been joined by Meg Hamilton on violin and viola, and Ronen Kozokaro on percussion to form the band Chutzpah!   The CD is available from Hilda on 07778 501215 or e-mail hilda@chiribim.com.  You can see her perform in concerts on 4 and 9 August and 26 September (details below), and learn with her at Yiddish song school, Klez Fest and workshops in Edgware – see details below.  Hilda is accompanied on her CD “Yiddish Songs Old & New” by the Merlin Shepherd Quartet, and the CD is widely available.  You see videos and hear clips of her music on her website http://www.chiribim.com/music.php
