A Wedding Timeline
Pre Chuppah - as guests arrive, warming up the atmosphere with gentle Jewish and Israeli tunes
Ceremony - Music for processions (You would choose the appropriate music for parents, bridesmaids, groom
Music during Chuppah - Eshet Chayil etc. Accompanying the Rabbi/Chazan.
We can also sing the Chazanut, Sheva Brachot.
Post Chuppah - As the groom stamps on the glass the band break into joyous Simcha music. Sometimes spontaneous dancing breaks out at this point.
You can hear some of our Chuppah music here http://www.shirmusic.co.uk/sounds
Reception: Atmospheric background Jewish music (Klezmer/Israeli/Ladino/Yiddish), medium to uptemo
Dinner: Welcoming the guests into the dinner hall with gentle atmospheric music, gradually building to a Simcha dance “groove” and welcoming the newlyweds into the hall.
Simcha dance set 1 - 20 mins - the couple up on chairs, Siman Tov etc.
If we feel it is necessary to “help” the dancers, we will get on the floor and guide (not Led Israeli)
Background music for meal - a selection of gentle atmospheric Jewish/Israeli/Ladino music, both live and recorded.
Dance set 2/3 - can be “Led Israeli” - a selection of Israeli folk dances led and called by ourselves; circle, partner and line dances. This brings everyone together and especially popular if there are non-Jewish guests.
DJ - We work with an excellent DJ team to provide the non-Jewish music for which you can supply a playlist.
Usually the last hour is reserved for the DJ but often there will also be a set between courses.
The DJ would provide stage and dance floor lighting. Room lighting is charged extra.
2nd Band: We also work with other bands who would provide the non-Jewish music for your party.
We will supply a full PA system.
The size of the room could affect the size of the system and therefore the cost.
Microphones will be provided for speeches if necessary.
Shir can MC the evening if required and advise on production aspects - running order, lights etc.
We would also meet with you to discuss the music, running order etc.
We will coordinate with the Rabbi/Chazan and other service providers if necessary
We would need access to the venue 2-3 hours before the start of the event.
The size of the event could require more or less musicians.
