Last year was one of our busiest ever with clients playing catch up after Covid and really enjoying the newly found freedom!
Every event and party is special and unique, but there were some stand out moments that we would like to share.
Hence the Shir Best Of Awards.
Sam and Mark chose their favourite destination for their wedding – Lagomandra Beach, Halkidiki, Greece.
Hannah and Noam’s wedding took place amongst the vineyards of the Occitainie / Languedoc region in Southern France.
As Covid restrictions were eased last summer, we were fortunate to have performed at some amazing venues and weddings in the UK.
Last summer, as the lockdown restrictions were eased, we were invited to play at 2 Iraqi-Jewish weddings that included having a Henna as part of the celebrations.
Sadie’s and Ori’s wedding took place at the stunning Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild on St Jean Cap Ferrat, just east of Nice in the South of France.
Eleanor’s Bat Mitzvah was the last in the trilogy of Brookes Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, all well organised, high energy and joyous affairs at Belsize Square Synagogue.
Reception was in the Hall, followed by Havdalah, dancing and dinner in the Sanctuary.
Max’s Bar Mitzvah party was supposed to be at the West Reservoir Centre, Stoke Newington. But Covid had other ideas.
Instead the family settled for a restricted socially distanced ZOOM party in the sunny back garden, with just Grandparents, Rabbi David Mason and the Shir Garden Trio to provide the music.
Wedding of Hilary Goldsmith and Marlon Ellis at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London. Shir played for Chuppah (The Gallery), Reception (Ladies Smoking Room), Simcha Dancing (Hansom Hall), Chuppah with JJ Hodari.
The Nemko family chose The Hive in Edgware for their son’s Yoni’s Bar Mitzvah. We supplied our Full Package, playing for Reception, Simcha Dancing, Dinner background, Led Israeli and DJ, plus full PA & lights (stage, dance floor and room lights).
Alice and Nathan’s Wedding took place in North Norfolk at the stunning Oxnead Hall Estate. Shir provided music for: Chuppah / Reception / Jazz, Yiddish Swing Dancing / Simcha – Led Israeli Dancing.
Roxanna’s and Zac’s Ashk’fardi wedding took place at the Luton Hoo Walled Garden on a blisteringly hot summer’s day last July.
It’s always interesting when a wedding has a meeting of cultures. Here it was Roxanna’s Persian Sephardi heritage meeting Zac’s Ashkenazi background, and the couple requested music to reflect that union.
